| The Arizona Diamondbacks Look To Win Series Against the Floundering Florida Marlins |
Betting baseball will make the long season more exciting and there is no place better to wager on major league baseball than BetPhoenix. Online sportsbook BetPhoenix has the latest odds and wagering opportunities on every game in baseball. Ricky Nolasco pitched into the eighth inning in his last start, and also tossed 8 1/3 innings of one-run ball four starts ago against the Giants. In between those outings, however, the 28-year-old right-hander only made it to the fifth and sixth innings, respectively. Obviously, those aren't the starts Nolasco prefers. "My objective every time out is to eat up innings, but obviously the importance is probably a little bit higher with a doubleheader coming up," Nolasco said of the Marlins' impending three-day, four-game series in Philadelphia that begins Tuesday. "Not only that, but a big series with the Phillies. I just need to stay the same and keep doing whatever I'm doing." On Monday, Nolasco looks to go deep in the finale of a four-game series against the D-backs and Zach Duke at Sun Life Stadium. Nolasco has had great success against the D-backs in his career, going 5-1 with a 3.38 ERA in six career starts against them. As usual, the righty expects Arizona to load up on left-handed batters against him, but said the multiple lefties don't affect his approach. "Nothing different. Teams like to stack lefties as much as they can, even if it means giving some guys the day off," Nolasco said. "I just try not to change and keep things simple. I don't think much. I just try to go out there and whoever's up there, just make my pitches." While Nolasco has had success against the D-backs in his career, Duke has struggled against the Marlins, going winless with a 6.49 ERA in seven career starts against them. The 28-year-old left-hander is coming off a solid start against his former team, however, as he tossed seven innings of one-run ball against the Pirates on Wednesday. It was the second time in three starts he worked seven innings. Mike Stanton didn't hit a home run Sunday -- breaking a three-game stretch in which he left the yard -- but the young power hitter has had quite an impressive start to his career. Monday was Stanton's 161st career game. In his first 160, the outfielder hit 38 home runs. Only eight players to debut since 1910 have hit more in their first 160 Major League games: Rudy York (54), Mark McGwire (49), Ryan Braun (47), Chuck Klein (44), Ryan Howard (43), Bob Homer (42), Tony Clark (40) and Frank Robinson (39). Three others -- Josh Hamilton, Evan Longoria and Wally Berger -- also had 38. The Marlins have struggled to win in the month of June posting a pitiful record of 1-10. They need some help to break out of that funk but it won’t come against Arizona. The Snakes win again and take the series from the Marlins. Play on the Arizona Diamondbacks
