| The New York Yankees Look To Sweep the Cleveland Indians |
Betting baseball will make the long season more exciting and there is no place better to wager on major league baseball than BetPhoenix. Online sportsbook BetPhoenix has the latest odds and wagering opportunities on every game in baseball. This weekend's series has been exactly what the Yankees needed. And it's just compounded the problems for the upstart-turned-sputtering Indians. After a sweep at the hands of the red-hot Red Sox, the Yankees have bounced back by taking the first three of the four-game series against the Tribe, which will conclude Monday at Yankee Stadium. It's a different story for the Indians, who were 30-15 on May 23 and have now lost 14 of 18 to see their seven-game lead in the American League Central disappear as the Tigers have caught them in the standings. "Our struggles offensively continue," said Indians manager Manny Acta of his club, which is 6-for-68 with runners in scoring position in the last 10 games. "We're going to have to just continue to go out there and fight, and maybe tinker a little bit more with that lineup. We'll do whatever we can to try to see if we can come up with something different." Cleveland has lost eight of the last nine against the Yankees, outscored 65-23 in those games. The Tribe has scratched across two runs or fewer in 12 of their last 18 games overall. In addition to the offense getting on track, the Tribe will also need a strong pitching performance to stop the suddenly-hot Yankees, and crafty right-hander Carlos Carrasco may be just the guy to get Cleveland back into the win column. Carrasco, who has never faced the Yankees, is 3-0 with a 3.48 ERA in six road starts this season. New York, on the other hand, has seen some recent success out of the lineup from top to bottom. On Sunday, seven players recorded multiple hits. "That's how you'd draw it up every day if you could," Yankees skipper Joe Girardi said. "It was really good. Everywhere we got contributions, and obviously the big inning where we got the five runs was great, and we just kept putting good at-bat after good at-bat." Right-hander A.J. Burnett will look to lead the Yankees to a sweep on Monday, and he'll have to come back from a discouraging outing against the Red Sox. Still never having beaten Boston as a Yankee, Burnett allowed eight earned runs in 5 2/3 innings, while struggling with command issues. He is 3-4 with a 4.97 ERA in his career against Cleveland. New York center fielder Curtis Granderson (20 home runs) and first baseman Mark Teixeira (19) are the first pair of Yankees sluggers to have 19 or more home runs through the first 62 games of the season since Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle accomplished the feat in the famed season of 1961. The Yankees are poised to pull off the sweep and keep pace with the Boston Red Sox. Play on the New York Yankees
