| The LA Dodgers head East to take on the Philadelphia Phillies |
Betting baseball will make the long season more exciting and there is no place better to wager on major league baseball than BetPhoenix. Online sportsbook BetPhoenix has the latest odds and wagering opportunities on every game in baseball. The Phillies are coming home, fresh off a timely victory that answered their biggest concern. Philadelphia had seen its offense go cold over a four-game weekend losing streak, but it shrugged that trend aside on Sunday and will square off against the Dodgers on Monday in another challenging matchup. The Phillies went 4-5 on their 10-day road trip and are 16-14 on the road this season, a record that pales in comparison to their mark (19-10) at Citizens Bank Park. In addition, this time of year has tended to be a challenge for the Phillies, as they haven't managed to post a winning record in June since 2007. And if all that isn't enough, they'll also have to deal with a Los Angeles squad that just seems to be hitting its stride. The Dodgers are 5-2 in their past seven games, sitting four games under .500 for the season, and they boast a player in Matt Kemp who is on the short list of early candidates for Most Valuable Player. Kemp is in the league's top 10 in batting average, on-base and slugging percentage, and he's the first Dodgers player to have 15 home runs in a third of the season since Shawn Green in 2001. Kemp, with 16 homers, also has a chance to become just the second Dodgers player, after Raul Mondesi, to achieve a 30-30 season. Philadelphia starter Cliff Lee, who'll be matched against fellow left-hander Ted Lilly in Monday's series opener, will bear the responsibility of slowing Kemp down. Lee has completed six innings in every start but his most recent outing, a game that saw him allow six runs en route to a 10-2 loss to the Nationals. Lilly, meanwhile, has a 1-4 record and a 5.91 career ERA against Philadelphia, and he also has an interesting statistical trend to his credit. Lilly, who has completed six innings in seven consecutive outings, has never walked more than two batters in 24 starts since being traded to the Dodgers. Philadelphia and Los Angeles, the top two defensive teams in the Major Leagues, each committed an error on Sunday. The Phillies have played 39 errorless games and have a league-low 26 miscues this season. The Dodgers have the second-best fielding percentage and have made 17 outfield assists. The Phillies are shutting the door and burning up the base paths. The Phillies have stolen 24 bases in their past 25 attempts, and they've been successful in 12 consecutive tries. Brown, on May 21, was the last Philadelphia player thrown out attempting to steal. The Phillies are 18-for-19 in save opportunities this season and have successfully closed 16 straight chances. The Phillies have a great pitching matchup in game one and Cliff Lee will be too tough to beat for the Dodgers. Play on the Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are one of the best teams in baseball and very difficult to beat at home. The Dodgers will attempt to do that as they travel to the east coast to get a series started.
