The red Hot Florida Marlins Take on the New York Mets
The red Hot Florida Marlins Take on the New York MetsThe New York will host the Florida Marlins in a make-up game on Monday, as the two teams are headed in opposite directions.

Betting baseball will make the long season more exciting and there is no place better to wager on major league baseball than BetPhoenix. Online sportsbook BetPhoenix has the latest odds and wagering opportunities on every game in baseball.

If not for a May 17 rainout, the Marlins and Mets would have had Monday off.

Instead, the two teams will be making the game up. It was originally part of a two-game series. Florida won the first, 2-1, in 11 innings.

Mets manager Terry Collins said that his team's mentality wouldn't change with just one game against the Marlins.

"Just win. It doesn't change. You go back to when we played them before," Collins said. "If you add that game onto the series, it decides who wins or loses the series. We've got to come out tomorrow and just approach it as another game."

In his last start, Chris Capuano received little run support as he took the loss in a 3-1 ballgame. The left-hander went six innings and allowed two runs on four hits with four walks. Earlier this season, Capuano pitched two-thirds of an inning in relief against the Marlins and did not factor into the decision. He allowed one run on three hits.

After Sunday's 7-5 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field, the Marlins announced that Clay Hensley was reinstated off the disabled list and reliever Chris Hatcher was optioned to Double-A Jacksonville.

Hensley will make his first big league start since 2008, and Jack McKeon hopes that Hensley can fill the fifth spot in the rotation.

"Right now, we hope so," McKeon said of Hensley, whose pitch count will be around 90. "It's either him or somebody they bring up. But he's been a starter. He's got experience. It may take him a couple of games to get sharp. Let's hope he's sharp tomorrow."

Florida has been down a starter since Josh Johnson went on the DL in May with right shoulder inflammation.

Hensley, meanwhile, last pitched June 1 at Arizona in a relief appearance before exiting with a right shoulder sprain. He made two Minor League rehab starts last week with Class A Jupiter and Wednesday with Double-A Jacksonville, where he threw 72 pitches.

Omar Infante was given Sunday off to rest his sore right knee. Florida's second baseman has been maintaining it for a while, and has been able to play through it. He was taken out of Saturday's game in the fifth inning because the club had a big lead. McKeon saw he was laboring while running the bases. Emilio Bonifacio got the start at second Sunday, which also allowed Greg Dobbs a chance to start at third base.

The Marlins are playing great baseball right now and get a win against the struggling New York Mets.
