This Tuesday, the pitching matchups are a wide array of young pitchers and veterans trying to get a win for their team. Here is a look at some of the best for Tuesday.

Baltimore Orioles at New York Yankees

Tommy Hunter had a stomach virus that hampered him in Sunday's start and the righty is fully recovered and on schedule for Tuesday. Acquired in a midseason trade from Texas, Hunter has gone at least six innings in five consecutive starts for the O's.

Phil Hughes will stay in the Yankees' rotation for at least one more turn even after allowing six runs against the Red Sox in a loss. That start was the second straight in which he allowed six runs.

Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians

The Indians have pulverized Rick Porcello pitches for 25 hits, 15 runs and four homers over 14 1/3 innings this year, about half that damage coming last month at Progressive Field. The 22-year-old has a challenge on his hands.

Fausto Carmona yielded four runs (three earned) in six innings of a 7-0 loss to the Athletics on Thursday. The right-hander is 1-1 in two starts against the Tigers this season. This game could decide the playoff fates of these teams as the post season gets closer.

Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals

Yovani Gallardo had never allowed more than two home runs in a start before the Cardinals hit four Thursday, including two by Albert Pujols. In two straight losses to St. Louis, Gallardo has allowed 12 earned runs in 9 2/3 innings.

Kyle It's been a rough second half for Lohse, whose ERA has been on a steady upward trajectory. He'll be pitching on eight days' rest, trying to start a season-ending kick to finish the year with a good feeling.
