Monday MLB Pitchers to Watch
Monday MLB Pitchers to Watch

The Major League Baseball season is winding down and teams are trying to fight for a playoff spot or develop young talent as they look forward to next year. With that being said, if you like to bet on baseball, there are still plenty of great games to watch and wager on.

Here is a look at the some of the best pitchers to watch on Monday.

Felix Hernandez vs. New York Yankees

The Mariners ace has been strong down the stretch, going 6-2 with a 2.28 ERA over his last eight starts, including back-to-back 2-1 wins over the Angels. He loves pitching against the Yankees as well (6-3, 2.82 in 10 career starts).

Gio Gonzalez vs. LA Angels

Gonzalez was tagged for six earned runs in a loss to the Royals on Tuesday, giving up 10 hits and three walks with four strikeouts in five frames. He's 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA and 20 strikeouts through 19 innings in three starts vs. the Angels this year.

Jeff Niemann vs. Baltimore Orioles

Niemann is looking to bounce back after another rough outing on Tuesday. The right-hander gave up seven runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. He's lost his last two decisions, both against the Rangers.

Chris Volstad vs. Atlanta Braves

Volstad remains winless in his past six outings and has lost his last four decisions. In his last start against the Mets, he received a no-decision after allowing two runs on six hits. He is 0-2 with a 6.35 ERA against the Braves this season.

The game of the day and the pitching matchup to watch for Monday will be the game between the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox.

Rick Porcello showed the efficient, sinkerballing form the Tigers want to see from him down the stretch, tossing 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball over just 75 pitches Tuesday against the Indians. He induced 13 ground-ball outs.

Continuing the run of strong pitching performances for the White Sox against the Twins, Jake Peavy tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings in his last start. He gave up just four hits while walking a pair, and also had a season-high nine strikeouts.

The MLB schedule will have plenty of great opportunities to watch and wager on some of the most talented pitchers in the game. Open an account at Bet Phoenix and bet on baseball.
