Tim Wakefield finally gets a chance to get his 200th win after missing numerous times. The veteran knuckleballer will take his eighth stab at win No. 200 when he opens a 10-game homestand. Wakefield allowed five runs in five innings in his last start, but still left with an 8-5 lead that the bullpen squandered. Florida Marlins vs. Atlanta Braves Mike Minor takes the hill after giving up seven hits and four earned runs in five innings of a 6-5 win over New York on Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader. Minor surrendered a grand slam to Jason Bay. Hand was a hard-luck loser Wednesday after allowing one run in six innings vs. the Mets. Hand allowed three hits and walked four.
