MLB Pitching Matchups For Tuesday September 20th

Handicapping a MLB game to bet on baseball is all about the pitching. The starting pitching sets the line and can decide the outcome of the game. The top rated online sports book to check out odds and bet on baseball is Bet Phoenix. Open an account and bet on baseball as the season ends all the way up and including the World Series.

Here is a look at some of the top pitching matchups for Tuesday.

Atlanta Braves vs. Florida Marlins

Randall Delgado has allowed just one run in three of his five starts this season. That continued in his latest start against the Marlins on Wednesday, when he allowed one run in five innings of work. He has a 1.80 ERA in his past two starts.

Anibal Sanchez comes off a tough loss to Philadelphia, in which he gave up two runs in six innings with seven strikeouts. That effort came after a one-hit, 11-strikeout win at Pittsburgh. In his past three starts, he's 1-1 with a 0.86 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs

Brewers right-hander Shaun Marcum dropped a decision to the Rockies on Wednesday after being tagged for six runs (five earned) on eight hits and one walk. He struck out four over five innings.

Randy Wells is 5-0 in his last nine starts, but did not get a decision in his last outing against the Reds. He failed to finish the fifth inning, and blamed himself for "nibbling" too much pitch-wise. He's 0-1 in two starts vs. the Brewers.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox

This will be Rick VandenHurk's second start since being recalled from Triple-A. He gave up three runs on three hits in just 2 1/3 innings versus the Blue Jays on Sept. 10 -- but two of those hits were homers and hurt him.

Erik Bedard will make his first start since Sep. 3 after dealing with a lat strain and will likely stay under 100 pitches, manager Terry Francona said. Bedard held the O's to two runs over 6 1/3 innings earlier this season.
