MLB Pitching Matchups For Wednesday September 21st

The baseball season is coming to a close, but there are still plenty of angles that baseball betting fans can find to win money. The first place to look is the starting pitching as that is the most important aspect of betting on baseball.

The top rated online sports book to check out odds and bet on baseball is Bet Phoenix. Open an account and bet on baseball as the season ends all the way up and including the World Series.

Here is a look at some of the top pitching matchups for Wednesday.

Houston Astros vs. Cincinnati Reds

Wandy Rodriguez has held opponents to three runs in each of his last four starts, going 2-1 with a 4.38 ERA in those games. His 73 wins rank third on the Astros' all-time list by southpaws, trailing Bob Knepper and Mike Hampton.

Currently with a club record of 44 home runs allowed, Bronson Arroyo is four away from Jose Lima's NL record and six away from Bert Blyleven's Major League record of 50. Arroyo struggled with his command in his four-homer game vs. the Brewers on Friday.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs

Randy Wolf pitched seven strong innings on Friday for his 13th victory, allowing three earned runs and seven hits while striking out seven with no walks. He threw 101 pitches, 71 for strikes.

Matt Garza is 4-2 with a 2.54 ERA in his last nine starts after a no decision in his last outing against the Astros. He likely has two more starts this season. "I want to finish strong, finish healthy and finish on a good note," he said.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox

Tommy Hunter will get the start for the Orioles in game two of the series with the Red Sox. The big righty has pitched consistently since Baltimore got him from Texas earlier this summer. He's become a real innings-eater and threw seven shutout vs. the Angels in his last start. The O's are hoping he'll do some good for them in 2012.

Josh Beckett made a triumphant return from an ankle injury on Friday night, holding the Rays to three runs over six innings of work. He has a 5.73 ERA in two starts against the Orioles this season.
