The sort of resilience the Arizona Diamondbacks demonstrated all season long could come in very handy now.

With their 9-4 loss Sunday, the D-backs fell behind, 2-0, in their National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. One loss away from postseason elimination, the D-backs can take some solace in two factors: They are now returning home, and they do have that track record of coming back in difficult situations.

"We have hope," D-backs manager Kirk Gibson said Sunday night. "We're going to go to our environment now. We've played better at home, just as well as the Brewers have.

"I actually thought our guys, they battled in the seventh inning, the eighth inning, the ninth inning. They didn't lay down. We've made it tough on ourselves.

"The Brewers have played well. You've got to give them credit at this point. We have been resilient all year, and we expect to come back and play well in our arena, as well."

The Brewers won't expect anything other than the D-backs' best shot.

The D-backs led the Major Leagues in come-from-behind victories this season. The Brewers won't expect anything other than the D-backs' best shot.

The D-backs' spirits can be further lifted by the fact that they will have Josh Collmenter starting for them in Game 3. Collmenter is a rookie, but his baffling delivery has often been beyond solution for opposing hitters. In two starts against Milwaukee this season, Collmenter has pitched 14 scoreless innings. He was 1-0 in those two starts, giving up only six hits and one walk. Although Ryan Braun didn't play in either game.

Collmenter will be opposed in the Tuesday night game by Shaun Marcum. Marcum had one start against Arizona in which he did not receive a decision, but gave up four earned runs in six innings.

This is a must win for the Diamondbacks if they hope to make this a series.
