| Thunder Welcome Lebron, Heat To OklahomaCity |
For the Thunder, this will be a big chance to showcase their talents before a nationwide TV audience but this is nothing new for the Heat—they get their opponents' best shot every time they take the floor. With all of the media attention and infamy surrounding LeBron James’ decision to head to Florida they've become the most reviled team in the league and play every game with the proverbial 'target on their back'. Despite these high expectations, the Heat currently hold the lead in the rugged Southeast Division ahead of the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic. Miami's biggest issue of late has been injuries—LeBron has been fine, but co-conspirators Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade have both missed time recently. There's also been some re-shuffling of the rest of the lineup, with third year player Mario Chalmers taking over at point guard for veteran Carlos Arroyo. There's not any real panic at this point in the Heat camp—obviously the big picture concern is several months away in the NBA playoffs—but the team isn't clicking on all cylinders at the moment. That's good news for the Thunder who arguably don't have the talent to match up to Miami's 'Big Three' when healthy. Oklahoma City plays good team defense, so if one or more components of the Heat's triumvirate are out or playing at less than 100% it becomes a completely different game. It also makes a handicap difficult until right before gametime—Bosh and Wade have both been listed as 'day to day' recently so make sure to check their status. The expectation is that they'll be back in the lineup and at or near full strength in a matter of days, but the expectation of NBA teams doesn't always mesh with the reality of player injuries. The Heat will be playing for the third time in four days and any possible fatigue issues could be compounded by the early start time for this nationally televised game. Oklahoma City does have an important Western Conference game with New Orleans on deck, but they'll have three days between this game and their matchup with the Hornets. The status of Wade and Bosh could modify this call, but this game means a lot more to the home team and we'll look for the Thunder to win outright.
