Kevin Durant And The Oklahoma City Thunder Battle The Big Three of The Miami Heat
Kevin Durant And The Oklahoma City Thunder Battle The Big Three of The Miami HeatThe Miami Heat got all of the off-season attention by signing LeBron James and other elite athletes, but with the season almost at the halfway point; Kevin Durant is stealing the show. The two teams will face off to see who can stand tallest on the hardwood.

Durant is paying very well this year and the fans are noticing. Kevin Durant was named a starter to the Western Conference All-Star team Thursday night as the NBA announced the starters live on TNT. Durant was the second-leading vote-getter in the West behind Kobe Bryant showing just how popular that he has become in the league.

Durant is the league’s current leading scorer and reigning scoring champ and is the second youngest starter behind Derrick Rose (who is just six days younger). At just 22, Durant is probably just now starting a very, very long run as an All-Star starter. A lot of people wondered that if in small-town Oklahoma City that he’d gain the national recognition needed to become a big-name star, but evidently that wasn’t a problem.

Dewyane Wade is one of the many great players for the Heat, but migraines may become a serious problem as evident by his late quarter collapse against the Knicks. Wade collapsed in the fourth quarter after having a great game and came up empty in crunch time. Wade missed the last seven shots of the game all in the fourth quarter, but it’s worth keeping in mind that all shots are not equal. Two of last seven shots were 3-pointers and none of them were clean layups. What's more, none of the last seven shots came in transition whereas he earned five transition buckets earlier in the game. The degree of difficulty was far steeper for his last seven shots than the previous 15.

The Heat has not been fully healthy all season, but will be ready to take on Durant and the Thunder. Durant is one of the best but Wade and James want to show the youngster he still has work to do to get up to their superstar status.
