| St. John’s Red Storm Faces Yet Another Top Team In The Connecticut Huskies |
BetPhoenix is the best online sportsbook to wager on college basketball and they have the latest odds on this and all other games on the schedule. UConn enters the game with a higher ranking, but the Red Storm are exactly the kind of team that can be expected to cause it problems. St. John’s is deep, athletic, and focused on its defense. It will force Kemba Walker to run through screens and deal with physical defense every time down the court, and Jeremy Lamb can probably expect the same level of attention. This has the potential to become a war of attrition that’s in doubt until the final seconds. Connecticut’s victory over Seton Hall continued the Huskies dominance of the New Jersey and New York City teams in the Big East. Entering the Feb. 28 game against St. John’s, the Huskies have won 28 straight over the Pirates, the Red Storm, and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The schedule is tough for the Red storm. St. John’s plays three games against Top 25 squads, which isn’t a ton given the number of ranked opponents in the Big East, but the two games against top five teams (Connecticut and Pittsburgh) are both at home. It also faces critical road games against Cincinnati and Marquette, which find themselves in a similar position to the Red Storm heading into the homestretch. The Red Storm are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record. The Huskies are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record and 18-5 ATS in their last 23 games following a win. The Huskies are the better team and should handle the Red Storm in this game. Play on UConn
