The Miami Heat Look to Recover Against The Chicago Bulls
The Miami Heat Look to Recover Against The Chicago BullsThe Miami Heat formed over the summer, but it almost didn’t happen as several members of the Heat could have become Chicago Bulls.

In a feature story in this week's Sports Illustrated, guard Derrick Rose revisited the summer's free agent chase. The Bulls had enough salary-cap room to pursue LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, who ended up joining forces in Miami.

It's a familiar story by now. While Wade went all-out to recruit James for the Heat, Rose stayed low-key. James phoned Rose shortly after the Cavaliers were eliminated from the playoffs last spring. Otherwise, there were only a few test messages sent between the two.

According to the story, Rose summed up one of his texts to James like this: "I'm just hitting you up to kill all the rumors that I don't want to play with you. I'd like to play with you. I just want to win."

For better or worse, Rose and James went their separate ways. So far, the Bulls are 2-0 against the Heat, but another game is looming on Sunday in Miami. The Heat is hopeful that Mike Bibby can provide the type of reliability at point guard that the team has not been able to find in recent seasons from the likes of Mario Chalmers, Carlos Arroyo and Rafer Alston.

Now when these two teams meet on the court, it will be interesting to see what team finishes on top.

The Heat will be looking to solve their problems that have plagued them all year. The Heat have been prone to surrendering leads and losing a 24 point lead to the Magic will inspire them in this game to beat the Bulls.
