| No. 14 Bucknell Has a Chance To Upset No. 3 UConn |
BetPhoenix is the best online sportsbook to wager on the College Basketball and they have the latest odds on this and all other games on the schedule. The Bison dominated virtually every statistical category in the Patriot League, but their best attribute against more decorated opponents is their shot selection and efficiency. They are a patient shooting team and a very dangerous one, especially from beyond the arc. F/C Mike Muscala is a potential game-changer. The sophomore is dangerous on both ends of the floor, as he was both a top-10 scorer and led the league in blocks. Bryan Cohen has regularly been tasked with shutting down the opposing team’s star player, and with the Huskies, that’s clearly junior G Kemba Walker, the Big East tournament MVP. Walker led his team by averaging 23.5 points per game this season. Bucknell’s Mike Muscala must be a factor on the glass, as UConn ranked 11th in the country in rebounding, led by sophomore F/C Alex Oriakhi. Bucknell will keep this close, but they will ultimately fall due to a lack of rebounding. The Bison are not a particularly strong offensive rebounding team, and that will be a problem against a team as explosive as UConn. Alex Oriakhi was second in the Big East this season in rebounding. The Huskies are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 Thursday games and they could get upset in round one. The Huskies will eventually prevail, but this game will be closer than most people think.
