| No. 4 Northwestern Looks To Advance in the NIT against No. 2 Washington State |
Bet Phoenix is the premier online sportsbook for betting on college basketball. Bet Phoenix covers every tournament to include the CIT, NIT, and March Madness. Northwestern won its first two NIT games while in the throes of winter quarter final exams, so the Wildcats should be able to focus even better now that they’re on spring break. Their roster is ideal for the Princeton-style offense. Not only do the Wildcats hit a ton of 3-pointers (they’re second nationally with 9.4 makes per game), they also share the ball without turning it over (they’re second nationally with a 1.71-1 assist-turnover ratio). Northwestern runs the Princeton-style offense with a focus on 3-point shooting and sharing the basketball. At any given time, the Wildcats have four excellent 3-point shooters on the floor…and centers Davide Curletti and Luka Mirkovic can bury unguarded looks as well. Defensively, Northwestern played nothing but 2-3 matchup zone and 1-3-1 zone trap for years. But within the last three weeks, after allowing opponent after opponent to shoot better than 50 percent, the Wildcats have added a traditional man-to-man to their arsenal and their overall performance has improved. The Cougars rely heavily on the scoring prowess of junior G Klay Thompson, but they are at their best when everything is clicking. Sophomore PG Reggie Moore is getting healthier by the day after spraining an ankle three weeks ago. And when PF DeAngelo Casto is involved offensively, it’s more difficult for opposing teams to hone in on the Cougars’ perimeter game. The Wildcats are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 non-conference games and win a very close game against Washington State. Play on Northwestern
