An Anthony-Stoudemire tandem would be difficult to stop if the two ever developed chemistry, but so far, whenever Stoudemire comes over for the screen, it's usually just to cause a little disruption and rarely does it result in a pass play. D'Antoni points out that the most important part of an effective pick-and-roll is the spacing the team has on the floor, with shooters spread on the perimeter ready to punish a collapsing defense.
