The UConn Huskies battle the Butler Bulldogs for the NCAA Championship
The UConn Huskies battle the Butler Bulldogs for the NCAA ChampionshipThe national championship will be decided on Monday night when the UConn Huskies take on the Butler Bulldogs for the right to be crowned the national champions of college basketball.

The Huskies beat the Kentucky Wildcats to get to this game. The Huskies set the tone for the game early, not settling for jump shots, instead opting to stay patient, pass the ball around and find the open man. Of the UConn’s 14 first half field goals, 12 were assisted. Even more important to Coach Jim Calhoun, 10 of their made buckets in the first half were dunks or layups.

The UConn backcourt led the offensive attack. Shabazz Napier’s penetration opened up opportunities for teammates. He drew multiple defenders on a number of occasions-and found teammates for open looks, assisting on a three by Kemba Walker (18 points, 6 rebounds) and an uncontested two handed slam for Charles Owandu.

The Huskies excelled in sharing the ball and getting open shots, however, they were completely ineffective from deep. Kemba Walker hit the teams one and only three point shot ten minutes into the game. Overall the Huskies shot 1-12 from deep. Shabazz Napier missed all four of his attempts, and Walker only made 1 of 5.

They will overcome that one weakness to take on the Butler Bulldogs in this big game.

The Huskies are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600, 6-2 ATS in their last eight NCAA Tournament games as a favorite and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 NCAA Tournament games. The Bulldogs are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six Monday games and will narrowly fall to the Huskies in the big game.
