The Trail Blazers know exactly what they have to do in order to win Tuesday's Game 2 of their first-round playoff series with the Dallas Mavericks. For one, they can't let Dallas dominate them at the 3-point and free-throw lines as they did in Saturday's opener. The Mavericks were 10-for-19 on 3-point attempts and 25-for-29 at the foul line, including 13-for-13 over the final six minutes. For two, the Blazers have to shoot better from 3-point range (they were 2-for-16) and have to find a way to get to the line more often (9-for-13). But Portland coach Nate McMillan wasn't happy with the officiating, which he felt was uneven, especially in the crucial fourth quarter. Dallas roared back from a 72-66 deficit with six minutes left, outscoring Portland 23-9 the rest of the way at American Airlines Center. Dirk Nowitzki scored 18 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter and was 13-for-13 from the line in the game. LaMarcus Aldridge led Portland with 27 points on 12-for-20 shooting. Portland outscored Dallas 30-2 in points in the paint in the second half and 46-18 for the game -- and still lost. The Trail Blazers will have a better game two by using the points in the paint as an advantage. The Mavericks will not shoot the same percentage from beyond the arc and will lose game two.
