Russell Westbrook missed a potential game-tying three-pointer in the last 10 seconds and Oklahoma City's late rally fell short Monday night on the road. Westbrook and Kevin Durant combined for 61 points, but none of their teammates scored more than 13 as the two All-Stars dominated the ball. Denver stayed along behind a balanced effort led by Ty Lawson's 27 points.

The Thunder missed out on the first closeout opportunity this franchise has had since relocating by letting Denver off the hook Monday night. Oklahoma City went into the game up 3-0 in the Western Conference first-round series against its Northwest Division rivals.

Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and friends can still become the first West team to advance to the conference semifinals with a win Wednesday back at Oklahoma City Arena. The Thunder's first two wins in the series were at home.

Durant doesn't want to see the series come back to Denver.

Should the Nuggets manage to extend the series, Game 6 is in Denver on Friday. A seventh game, if needed, would be in Oklahoma City on Sunday.

Oklahoma City dropped Game 4 despite holding the Nuggets to 39-percent shooting and winning the rebound battle (50-44). Nearly twice as many turnovers (15-8) and getting outscored at the line 31-24 didn't help the Thunder's cause.

The Thunder knew Monday night's Game 4 would be the toughest of the series. The Nuggets' desire to stay alive would be at an all-time high, and they did just that. Now on the road the Nuggets won’t put up a fight and they will be eliminated.
