The Chicago Bulls Look To Even the Series With the Atlanta Hawks
The Chicago Bulls Look To Even the Series With the Atlanta HawksThe Atlanta Hawks stunned the Chicago Bulls in the first game of the series, and now it will be up to the Bulls to even the series.

Joe Johnson pulled on his Superman cape once again in this postseason, leading the Hawks to a stunning Game 1 win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night at the United Center. The win snapped the Hawks' 15-game losing streak in the conference semifinals. Johnson was spectacular, outdueling the Bulls' soon-to-be MVP Derrick Rose in this battle of stars.

He finished with 34 points, four rebounds and three assists in a scintillating effort that has the Hawks believing, as Kevin Garnett once said, "anything is possible." It always helps when you have the mettle and muscle to play with anybody in the league, which suits this new, more aggressive version of Johnson just fine. "I just want to come out and be aggressive and make plays," he said. "Collectively, as a team, we've been great in the postseason. We've approached every game with intensity."

The Hawks wouldn't have it any other way at this point of their season, which took another interesting twist with their Game 1 win over the top-seeded Chicago Bulls in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Knocking off the higher-seeded Orlando Magic in the first round was apparently not enough for the Hawks, who stole home-court advantage in Game 1 of that series as well.

That little taste of upset action left them starving for more. And with pundits from around the globe predicting that the Bulls would make quick work of them, the chance to make their critics eat those words provided the perfect fuel for the Hawks' latest most shocking moment of the season.

Now all they have to do is not get complacent and resist the urge to ease up for Game 2, Wednesday night at the United Center. That's how they got into trouble with the Magic. The Hawks play tough n game two, but the Bulls emerge victorious.
