| The Oklahoma City Thunder Look to Eliminate the Memphis Grizzlies |
After a sluggish start, Oklahoma City pulled away in the second and third quarters to cruise to an easy win. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for just 30 points, but they weren't needed with everyone sharing the load and Memphis never finding its stride. OKC held the Grizzlies to 36 percent shooting and won the rebound battle 50-33. Oklahoma City didn't leave any doubt two nights after needing 63 minutes to subdue Memphis. The Thunder needed about half that much time Wednesday night, running the Grizzlies out of the gym in a 27-point romp. OKC moved to the brink of the West final with the most dominating performance of this series. Blown leads have been commonplace throughout this series. Not Wednesday. OKC took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series with its second straight win and would lock down a date with Dallas in the West final by winning Friday night in Memphis. Should the Grizzlies keep the series alive, a deciding seventh game would be at Oklahoma City Arena on Sunday. But the Thunder players are looking to wrap this up off Beale Street. When it comes to omens, Oklahoma City's win in Game 4 doesn't bode well. The last three teams to win a triple-overtime playoff game in league history have gone on to lose the series. Then again, had the Thunder lost, Memphis would have taken a 3-1 lead. Monday's game was only the fifth in league postseason history to go three overtimes. The Thunder have the ability to eliminate the Grizzlies and they will do it in this game as they advance to play the Dallas Mavericks.
