| College Basketball Preview: Wright State vs. Air Force |
For the latest college basketball odds for tonight and all the way up to the Final Four visit the top rated sportsbook, Bet Phoenix. It’s been an obvious trend that Wright State is not going to light up the scoreboard and needs the offense to protect the ball and not put their defense at more of a disadvantage. Even than it’s no guarantee the wins will come in but their shooters came through against Youngstown State with 49% accuracy while the Penguins were held to only 40%. The problem was Youngstown State had trouble in close but were 11 of 27 from long range leaving Wright State to do most of their scoring inside the line. In what became a battle of three point shooting versus two point shooting YSU had advantages in turnovers and blocks with six but the Raiders had a few more rebounds and makes at the free throw line with their edge in shooting making just enough difference. Most of Wright State’s scoring came from three players with Julius Mays pumping in a game high 19 points with AJ Pacher and Armond Battle tossing in 16 and 13 points respectively. Air Force has had great balance between their scoring and defense so far, averaging 72 points on nearly 46% shooting while opponents have been putting 62 points on the board. That balance hasn’t been there in the Falcons last two games and the result were a pair of defeats by a total of five points. The defense played great versus Drake but the offense stumbled with both teams connecting at a 40% pace in a box score that was almost dead even right down to the last bounce. AF can blame this one on a poor opening half where the team was out rebounded and gave the ball away eight times. In such a close game foul shooting played a role with Air Force going 20 of 31 with a few makes or misses all that separated winning from losing. At the final whistle three players did most of the damage with Michael Lyons and Mike Fitzgerald scoring 13 points each with Taylor Broekhuis chipping in with eleven. The Falcons will be determined to play a complete game when they go up against Wright State in this exciting matchup.
