It’s looking pretty grim for the Lakers as their two biggest signing’s this offseason have come in the form of little used backup forwards in Josh McRoberts and Troy Murphy. It’s been a much quieter offseason for the Chicago Bulls who are coming off one of their most successful seasons since Michael Jordan was wearing the famous number 23. The Bulls won a league best 62 games last regular season, which earned them the number one seed heading into the postseason. Chicago then proceeded to cruise past Indiana and then Atlanta, before bowing out to the Miami Heat in the conference finals. Injuries aside, the only glaring weakness for the Bulls in the last couple of seasons has been the shooting guard position. As a result, Chicago waived Keith Bogans, who started all 82 games last season, and replaced him with former Piston Rip Hamilton, who should be a major upgrade over Bogans if he can stay healthy. If Hamilton, Boozer and Noah can all get through the regular season relatively unscathed, the Bulls should be a major force not just in the East, but the whole league. Kobe will attempt to lead the Lakers to a win in the opener against the Bulls, but a loss could signify a changing of the guard in the NBA landscape.

The LA Lakers are not getting the same attention they have in the past, but will be out to prove that they can make another run at a title when they tip-off against the Chicago Bulls.
