After last week's five finalists' performances on Tuesday from songs of the original Rat Pack, a group of legendary performers that included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr., Wednesday's show saw the once saved contestant Matt Giraud voted off. Considering he was spared from elimination by the judges one save, as what was a new featured added to Season 8, and he was the longest shot on the BetPhoenix American Idol odds board at +4000, it was no shocker he was sent home.

American Idol's Final Four contestants are Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen. Any of the four could win it and the remainder of Season 8 is going to be wrapped up with stellar talent on display and in competitive fashion, as it's time to go or go home with no margin for error.

California native Lambert is still the one to beat as the hefty odds on favorite priced -210 to become the next Idol. Thus far, Lambert hasn't gone wrong. He's selecting all the right songs and nailing them vocally. Lambert has a big edge with a natural knack for turning any song into his unique own. Surprisingly, however, he was placed among the bottom-three which made his American Idol wagering investors a bit nervous.

Milwaukee, Wisc., Church Music Gokey is listed with the second best odds at +250. As talented as Gokey is, he is not in the league with Lambert. But all it takes is a slip up or bad showing from the favorite, and he could place himself beside the odds on favorite. After all, it was Gokey who landed the most votes last week, while Lambert landed in the bottom-three last week.

Gokey is followed by the remaining female of the group, Iraheta +1150, being the sole girl in the group figures to get a lot of female viewer's votes. She scored the second-highest of the 47 million votes cast after the April 28 performance program. The just-turned-17-year-old dynamo has consistently wowed the judges with her a great voice. She'll also gain significant votes from the teen viewing audience, that makes up a large majority of the voting, and could surprise as preternaturally mature voice and an old-soul vibe—more rock queen than pop princess.

Conway, Ark., resident Allen priced at +1300 has been solid throughout the competition but just a step behind the two clear cut favorites, Lambert and Gokey. Allen is the pure musician in this Idol group. In addition to being an accomplished singer, in Idol terms, Allen is also proficient with the guitar, piano, viola and ukulele.
