With this week's show revealing the next Idol, the final two hopefuls must bring their A-Game, and the intensity and excitement will be immeasurable. It's been a competitive ride and it's down to this: Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.

BetPhoenix American Idol odds heavily favor Lambert priced at -275, installing Allen at +210. Lambert has been oddsmakers front-runner throughout, and Allen has made it to the point many Idol gurus thought he'd never reach, making this a David vs. Goliath showdown.

Allen was in the bottom three two weeks ago, but last week he rebounded and continued his becoming stronger over the course of the competition, earning praise from the judges for his performances. He hit his high watermark last Tuesday with his acoustic version of Kanye West's "Heartless," as he accompanied himself on guitar. Judge Randy Jackson stated that Allen’s performance was "better than the original," Simon Cowell said it made him into a contender.

Last week, Lambert also received high praise after his rendition of Aerosmith's ''Crying'', hitting every note in another virtual flawless performance, which has earned him the American Idol wagering role as long time odds on favorite. He stayed true to the original song and he let his vocals effortlessly do the rest in strong fashion. Following his showing Cowell said I encourage people to vote for you because of your talent. Paula Abdul added, If Steven Tyler was the mentor, he'd be speechless.

Tuesday's performance show, starting at 8:00pm EST, will consist of the screamer versus the quiet soul man. The flashy, trashy L.A. rocker against the mellow, humble small-town crooner. Call it what you like, but next week's betting American Idol online finale could be one of the most exciting in the show's history.
