UFC 135 Preview: Quinton Jackson vs. Jon Jones
UFC 135 Preview: Quinton Jackson vs. Jon JonesThis weekend UFC 135 will take center stage with some of the best fights on a card loaded with top notch fighters. The betting odds on UFC and other mixed martial arts fights can be found at online sportsbook Bet Phoenix. They have the latest UFC 135 odds and betting props for this weekend’s big pay per view event.

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones will defend his 205-pound strap for the first time ever when he battles former division titleholder Quinton Jackson at the upcoming UFC 135 event scheduled for Sept. 24 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

Jones hasn't been inside the cage since obliterating Mauricio Rua to win the title at UFC 128 back on March 19 in New Jersey. The lanky and unorthodox New Yorker has blown through each and every one of his Octagon opponents, amassing a 7-1 record in his time with the UFC.

Even that one loss, a complete hammering of Matt Hamill that ended in a disqualification due to illegal elbows, is considered a win.

Should it come as any surprise then, that he's the odds-on favorite at -500?

Jackson earned his shot at the light heavyweight crown by beating the brakes off Matt Hamill at the UFC 130 event on May 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Rampage" battered and bruised "The Hammer," out-striking him by a margin of 61-34 and stuffing all 17 of the NCAA wrestler's takedown attempts. He'll need every bit of that grappling prowess in a fight against "Bones."

A win for the Memphis will pay handsomely as Jackson is huge underdog at +400. Jon "Bones" Jones striking is impeccable.

Jones has dominated his opponents to the tune of 13 victories and one loss (a questionable DQ decision). He strikes in every opening—with his legs and arms in locations most fighters don't even conceive of trying to hit. He dismantled Mauricio Rua, striking at every opening "Shogun" provided.

If Jones could pick apart the unexpected moves of Rua, he should pick apart "Rampage" Jackson. "Rampage" Jackson has Jon Jones in age by almost 10 years.

Jackson, 33, will be fighting in his 41st fight, while Jones, 24, will be competing in his 15th.

While the veteran would normally be picked over the young up-and-comer, Jackson is a stand-up fighter who will take punches and hand them out all the same.

A fighter like that, who has more than twice as many fights under his belt, can't be counted on.

Of course in the UFC world anything can happen so tune in and wager on the big fight card this weekend at UFC 135.
