NFL Preseason Game: Carolina Panthers vs. Baltimore Ravens
NFL Preseason Game: Carolina Panthers vs. Baltimore RavensThe NFL preseason continues on Thursday night when the Carolina Panthers travel to Maryland to take on the Baltimore Ravens.

Sportsbooks have placed the Baltimore Ravens as 3 ½ point favorites with an over under of 33 ½.

Since the line opened bettors have put money on the underdog Carolina Panthers as the Baltimore Ravens are now -3 point favorites.

The Ravens have hopes of going to the Super bowl this year after a run to the playoffs in 2009. They bolstered the offense in the off season and acquired Anquan Boldin.

In this game the Ravens will have a quarterback rotation of Joe Flacco, Troy Smith, Marc Bulger and John Beck.

Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Jared Gaither and cornerbacks Fabian Washington and Chris Carr could miss this game with injury problems. Because of these injuries, backup players have had plenty of practice time so they will be ready to perform in the preseason if called upon. These are key players on the Ravens team but they are deep enough to compensate for the loss in this game. Kicking duties will be split in this contest. The Ravens are allowing kickers, Shayne Graham and Billy Cundiff to alternate opportunities, giving each kicker a chance to excel. The Carolina Panthers are off a disappointing year in 2009, and in the off season they went through an overhaul, removing some veterans to include Jake Delhomme and Julius Peppers.

Now Matt Moore gets a chance to lead this team. He will be joined in the quarterback rotation by Jimmy Clausen (rookie-Notre Dame), Hunter Cantwell and Tony Pike (rookie-Cincinnati). The Panther have an impressive running back tandem in Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams but don’t look for them to get too much action in the first preseason game of the year. Tyrell Sutton will get the bulk of the carries against the Ravens.

Preseason NFL Pick:

The Ravens have tremendous depth especially on offense. They are very deep and experienced in every key position on offense to include quarterback, wide receiver, and running back. Marc Bulger will be playing late, and battling for the number two spot. He will be joined by Dante Stallworth and Derrick Mason and that is a pretty fearsome offense to go up against. The Panthers are thin on defense and that will cause problems as the game goes on.

Head Coach John Fox is not concerned with winning in the preseason and that is evident by his 3-10 ATS run as of late.

The Panthers are still getting adjusted to life without the veterans and they will struggle in their opener.

Play on: Ravens -3

Get ready for a great preseason game between the Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens with BetPhoenix!
