| Ravens Bring Redskins Back To Earth With Preseason Romp |
The Ravens won outright as +3 NFL betting underdogs, improving their 2010 preseason record to 2-0 both straight up and against the spread. Baltimore has traditionally been a very dangerous dog in the exhibition campaign, with a 24-14 ATS mark getting points since 1990. The Redskins evened their record at 1-1 both SU and ATS. The Ravens return to action on Saturday night, hosting the New York Giants. The Redskins will hit the road to play the other New York team, taking on the Jets on Friday night. Baltimore will begin regular season play on Monday, September 13 as they play on the road against the New York Jets. The Ravens are a +3 road underdog with the total set at 37. Washington kicks off the 2010 campaign one night earlier as they host their hated rivals the Dallas Cowboys. The Redskins are a +3’ point home underdog with the total set at 41’.

The Mike Shanahan/Donovan McNabb era in Washington began with a good deal of success as the Redskins easily beat Buffalo in their first preseason game. They received a serious ‘reality check’ on Saturday night, however, as they were dominated in front of their home fans by their rivals from just up I-95, the Baltimore Ravens. After spotting the Redskins a first quarter field goal, the Ravens scored 23 unanswered points to cruise to a 23-3 victory at FedEx Field. The big blow was a trick play direct snap to safety Haruki Nakamura who took the ball 51 yards for the only touchdown by either first team offense.
