| Patriots Vs. Green Bay |
The New England Patriots return home to host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. Online Sportsbook BetPhoenix has yet to post a line due to the injury situation in Green Bay. The Packers outstanding quarterback and leader, Aaron Rodgers, left the game against the Detroit Lions with a concussion. Matt Flynn took over at quarterback, but he was unable to muster any points as the Packers lost a crucial division game. The Packers will need him back in the lineup if they want any shot at defeating the Packers. This may not happen as this is the second concussion that Rodgers has suffered on the year. His first one occurred in the game against the Washington Redskins. The way the Patriots are playing right now it may not matter who plays for the Packers. The Patriots dismantled the Chicago bears in the last outing despite the snow storm and cold conditions. The Patriots have always played well in the snow with Brady at the helm so more bad weather would not be a bad thing for the Patriots, but injuries may be a problem. Rookie cornerback Devin McCourty, who left Sunday's win over the Bears in the second quarter with a rib injury, did not practice Wednesday afternoon. Patriots receiver Deion Branch was limited in the team's Wednesday practice with a knee injury and he was not alone. Five other players did not suit up for practice. Quarterback Tom Brady (right shoulder/foot) and defensive linemen Ron Brace (concussion), Myron Pryor (back), Mike Wright (concussion) and Gerard Warren (knee). It is more than likely that all of these players could see playing time and Brady is assured to play, but the list warrants watching. The Road team is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four meetings and the Patriots are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight home games against a team with a winning road record. The Packers are 17-6-1 ATS in their last 24 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss. The Packers could provide a tough tests for New England if Rodgers is cleared to play.
