The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Arkansas Razorbacks meet in Tuscaloosa for a huge college football game in the SEC.

Nick Saban knows that if his team can continue winning they will get a chance to show it on the field. A.J. McCarron is still settling in at QB and while he hasn’t been impressive, the Tide are 3-0 and that is all that really matters.

Trent Richardson is a Heisman contender with 315 yards rushing on just 50 carries as he’s sharing time with Eddie Lacy who has 304 yards on just 28 carries. Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks take over the lead role at receiver and while Bama has had a fairy easy go of it to open the season they have been part of the offense since they arrived on campus.

Moving on a Nick Saban defense is never an easy task and Alabama has allowed just 18 points combined in their first three games. Mark Barron and Don’t’a Hightower share the team lead with 16 tackles and Trey Depriest has 15. Alabama faces easily their stiffest test of the year in this one against Arkansas.

The Arkansas Razorbacks were supposed to be taking a step back this season after losing some major pieces of their team but Bobby Petrino has the Hogs undefeated as they hit game one of their SEC schedule.

Tyler Wilson has replaced the departed Ryan Mallett and thus far he has thrown for 822 yards and five touchdowns with 15 of his completions going to Joe Adams, 13 going to Cobi Hamilton, and Jarius Wright has 11 catches and three touchdowns. With Knile Davis injured during the spring the running game has been turned over to Ronald Wingo Jr. who has 233 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively Arkansas will be put to the test this week but coming in Jerry Franklin leads the Hogs with 23 tackles while Ross Rasner and Eric Bennett have 15 each. It’s tough to gauge exactly what this years’ version of the Razorbacks are all about but we will learn plenty about them here.

The Razorbacks want to prove to the world they can play with the big boys in the SEC and a win against Alabama would certainly prove that, but winning will be harder than it looks.
