The Detroit Lions as they will travel to a place that has not been kind to them over the years, the Metrodome in Minnesota to face the Vikings. Don't tell coach Jim Schwartz that. No games in the NFL are a "sure thing" and the Lions know this, but right now Detroit is the far better team than the Minnesota Vikings. Detroit Lions quarterback Matt Stafford is on some kind of roll already in this young season, and the Lions defense has played lights out versus both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs. Still and all, the Metrodome is one of the hardest places to play for opponents. The most false starts in the NFL for visiting teams over the past 15 years have been caused by the Vikings incredibly loud and passionate fans. Bottom line -- if the Lions play to their potential they win by 10 or more. Gone are Brett Favre and Sidney Rice, and the only threat on the Vikings is the great Adrian Peterson. Bottle him up and the Lions win this game going away. However, it’s the NFL and anything can happen. The Vikings are a desperate team, looking for the first win of the season and they realize that if they lose this game, the playoffs may already be out of reach. That should make them play inspired football and this game could be one of the best of the week to watch.
