The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets travel to face the NC State Wolfpack Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium. Georgia Tech is coming off an impressive 35-28 victory over North Carolina in their ACC season opener last week. NC State got embarrassed on national television last Thursday, falling to Cincinnati 44-14.

NC State had an overall pitiful performance against Cincinnati, and it showed. Cincinnati’s offense ran right through and around the Wolfpack defense, totaling 503 yards of total offense. But perhaps the most concerning aspect of the game was the Wolfpack’s inability to put points on the board against a very mediocre Cincinnati defense. Quarterback Mike Glennon threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two costly interceptions that led to easy Cincinnati scores.

Georgia Tech continues to roll along, going about their business in a quiet manner. The Yellow Jackets have vaulted into the No.21 ranking in both polls after a strong 4-0 start. Leading the Yellow Jackets’ potent triple-option offensive attack is quarterback Tevin Washington, who accounted for three touchdowns in the 35-28 victory over the Tar Heels. Georgia Tech continues to pile up huge offensive numbers, totaling 496 yards of total offense, 312 of which were rushing yards.

Georgia Tech is 4-0 ATS this season. Many have not caught on to the high powered attack coming from the Yellow Jackets’ offense, which currently leads the FBS in total scoring and is second in rushing yards per game. NC State has shown little to convince me that they are capable of covering against Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets will get their points; there is little doubt of that.

The thing to watch for is how North Carolina State reacts to this game. They have extra time to prepare and will be able to muster the personnel to match up with the Yellow Jackets.
