College Football Preview: Kansas State Wildcats vs. Baylor Bears
College Football Preview: Kansas State Wildcats vs. Baylor Bears

The Kansas State Wildcats pulled off a very big upset last week. Now if they want to impress the college football world, they need to take down the ranked Baylor Bears.

The latest college football betting odds for this game and the entire schedule on week five can be found at online sportsbook, BetPhoenix.

In a back-and-forth game the Wildcats held on to beat the Hurricanes who were coming off an emotionally draining 24-6 win over 3-1 Ohio State in Miami during Week Three of the college football season. Junior quarterback Collin Klein ran in from two yards out during the first quarter to put Kansas State on top 7-3. Then Klein connected up with freshman wide receiver Tyler Lockett to put the Wildcats ahead 14-3 at halftime. Klein hooked up with junior tight end Travis Tannahill following the Hurricanes cutting the lead to 14-10. However Miami scored on their next two possessions. Sophomore running back John Hubert ran in from two yards out for Kansas State's final score as the Wildcat defense came up big with a goal-line stop to win the game.

Kansas State did the brunt of their damage on the ground gaining 265 yards that was about 2/3rds of their offensive output. Conversely the Hurricanes relied more on the passing game with senior QB Jacory Harris throwing 272 yards of Miami's 411 yards from the line of scrimmage. 3-0 Baylor meanwhile dumped 1-2 Rice 56-31 in Waco during Week Four.

The Bears beat the Owls easily courtesy of scoring on the first play of the second quarter on senior RB Terrance Ganaway's four-yard run to balloon the lead to 28-0. Junior QB Robert Griffin III hooked up with junior WR Lanear Sampson, junior WR Terrance Williams and senior WR Kendall Wright during the first as Ganaway and sophomore WR Tevin Reese caught TDs through the air the rest of the way from Griffin who also ran for 51 yards on six rush attempts including scoring Baylor's last TD of the game with 54 seconds left in the third. As well sophomore cornerback Ahmad Dixon had a 55-yard interception return for a TD.

Kansas State has flown under the radar this season, but they deserve a good look as they have a very aggressive defense that swarms to the ball and attacks from all angles. Going up against a high flying offense will be a tough challenge as the Wildcats prove they deserve to be in the top 25.
