Kansas State Looks To Keep Impressive Run Going Against the Missouri Tigers

The Kansas State Wildcats are on an impressive run and knocking out ranked opponents. This week they will try again when they face the Missouri Tigers. The latest college football odds for this game and all of the football games can be found at online sportsbook, Bet Phoenix.

Missouri’s loss to Oklahoma wasn’t a surprise and it probably wasn’t as close as the final score indicates as the Sooners led 31-14 heading in to the fourth quarter. The good news was that the offense moved the ball and scored against someone other than a sub division school. Missouri piled up 532 yards although OU wasn’t playing in your face defense late with a sizeable lead. The Tigers totaled impressive yardage on the ground and in the air although quarterback James Franklin struggled with hooking up with his receiving corps. Franklin threw for a score against no interceptions but excelled on the ground with 103 yards on 25 carries with a pair of trips to the end zone. Henry Josey led the rushing attack with more explosive 14 carry, 133 yard night with one score.

TJ Moe was the receiver of choice with 119 yards on seven receptions as the Tigers had some solid individual performances with a pair of scoring plays that covered 45 and 48 yards. The Tigers defense couldn’t contain the Sooners attack, giving up nearly 600 yards and 32 first downs.

Kansas State got quite a bit of mileage from an average looking 356 total yards in an odd looking box score if everything was based on numbers only. The Wildcats had three more first downs than Baylor but around 80 less yards but were more balanced and made fewer mistakes which is what wins games at any level. Kansas State held a huge 17 minute edge in time of possession which was partially a result of Baylor being a bit more quick strike and the Wildcats being able to run the football. It was four yards and a cloud of dust…51 times as KSU totaled over 200 yards on the ground with Collin Klein doing the heavy lifting with 113 yards on 25 carries with a touchdown. John Hubert was moderately productive but helped milk the clock.

Klein proved to be far better with his legs than arm completing 13 of 28 for 146 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. The KSU defense gave up 429 yards but had to be happy keeping Baylor below 500. This unit had to be unhappy allowing four touchdown passes all between 34 and 43 yards.

These teams will have a furious fight to the finish with only one team finishing with a win on Saturday. Picking that team is the hard part.
