| Texas A&M Tries To Avoid Another Meltdown Against Texas Tech |
While there is no shame to lose to the 4-0, 1-0 Cowboys or 4-1, 0-1 Razorbacks blowing comfortable leads at halftime has to be disheartening. The Aggies ran onto the grounds of Dallas Cowboys Stadium on fire with junior running back Christine Michael running into the end zone on back-to-back Texas A&M possessions to begin the game. Then after Arkansas scored, senior RB Cyrus Gray scored. Michael and Gray would add two more scores for the Aggies who went into the locker rooms up 35-17. The Razorbacks scored twice during the third quarter and squared the score on a Texas A&M fumbled in the end zone. Arkansas went for two and got it toe the ballgame up at 35 as senior placekicker Randy Bullock's 23-yard field goal broke the tie with 4:22 to go. However less than three minutes later the Aggies found themselves down for the first time all day. What a way to lose. The Texas A&M defense gave up 581 yards, but just 71 on the ground. Texas Tech trailed 20-0 11:21 into the game at 2-2, 0-2 Kansas. Four straight Red Raiders scores however pushed the visitors ahead midway through the second quarter. Freshman RB DeAndre Washington ran one in, junior QB Seth Doege threw two TDS to senior WR Jacoby Franks and sophomore WR Eric Ward, and senior PK Donnie Carona booted through a 46-yard FG. The Jayhawks bounced back to score the last TD of the first half and scored the only points in the fourth quarter, but Texas Tech struck three more times before the final stanza. Junior RB Eric Stephens ran two in as Doege once again found Ward to help the Red Raiders stave off Kansas 45-34. This is a huge game for the Aggies. The Red Raiders are talented and will be a quality victory and it will give the defense a chance to prove they can hold a lead. If they lose, the season could be over.
