| The Arizona Wildcats Fight Against the Oregon State Beavers |
In the last game, The Trojans sprinted out to a 17-0 lead partly due to two senior quartback Nick Foles turnovers, but then the USC defense became softer than a pillow as Foles joined junior QB Matt Barkley in of the better aerial attacks this season by two teams in the same game. Foles threw for 425 yards on 41/for/53 throwing for four touchdowns. Matching the number of TDs was Barkley who set a Trojans record by throwing for 468 yards only misfiring seven times on 39 throws. Defense was very much optional in Los Angeles as the Wildcats even tabulated a season-high in rushing yards, a whopping 129 yards, 15 better than pass-happy USC. Arizona actually had eight more rushes than the Trojans who coughed up the ball once. Catching Foles' TD throws were junior running back Taimi Tutogi, freshman running back Ka'Deem Carey, freshman wide receiver Austin Hill, senior WR Juron Criner and junior RB Taimi Tutogi as Carey also had two rushing TDs. In the Wildcats' only previous road game No. 7 Oklahoma State slaughtered Arizona 37-14. In Week Five USC dismantled the Wildcats thanks to never punting. Arizona stopped USC just three times on 10 third downs and once on two fourth down tries. Oregon State meanwhile is coming off a 35-20 loss at No. 24 Arizona State who spotted the Beavers the first 13 points of the game before going into intermission ahead 21-13. Freshman placekicker Trevor Romaine booted through two FGs in the first quarter as freshman RB Terron Ward capped a scoring drive at the start of the second quarter to put Oregon State up 13. Freshman QB Sean Mannion hooked up with senior WR James Rodgers to begin the second half to bring the Beavers within one, but it would be the last points Oregon State would put up. Now in a crucial conference game, these two teams will try to prove that that can play a role in the bowl picture down the stretch.
