The Maryland Terrapins Try To Take the Sting Out of Georgia Tech
The Maryland Terrapins Try To Take the Sting Out of Georgia Tech

The Maryland Terrapins have had some good press over the uniforms but now they want to get boticed for their play against Georgia Tech. The latest college football odds for this game and all of the football games can be found at online sportsbook, Bet Phoenix.

Georgia Tech continued to show offensive firepower against N.C. State. The Yellow Jackets gained 413 total yards of offense, which ironically was their lowest total of the season. The offensive output was enough to keep the Yellow Jackets ranked first in the FBS in rushing yards and second in total scoring. Orwin Smith was the star for the Georgia Tech, rushing for three touchdowns and 74 yards. At one point in the fourth quarter, the Yellow Jackets scored three touchdowns in less than three minutes of game play, which ultimately put the Wolfpack's comeback hopes to death.

Despite winning 28-3, Maryland's game with Towson was more fought than the score may indicate. The Terrapins were inferior to Towson in time of possession, first downs, total yards, and passing yards. But, the Terps hung tough and Danny O'Brien threw a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns that sealed the victory. The Maryland defense came to play Saturday, and forced four second half turnovers, sparking the win.

Maryland is 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS this season. Georgia Tech is 5-0 SU and 4-0-1 ATS. The total has gone over in four of Maryland's last six games. The total has gone over in all five of Georgia Tech's games this season.

Georgia Tech will get their points against Maryland. N.C. State overall played pretty well against Georgia Tech's offense, holding them to their lowest total yardage in any game this season. Yet, Georgia Tech put up 45 points, which is a testament to their ability. Wolfpack quarterback Mike Glennon had probably his best of the season against the Yellow Jackets defense completing 20 of 29 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Maryland brings a much better quarterback into town with Danny O'Brien. The Terps have the ability to put points and will test a Yellow Jacket defense that is allowing 25.8 points a game.

This high scoring game will go back and forth and it could come down to whatever team has the ball at the end of the game. This will easily be the most exciting tilt of the ACC football weekend.
