The Philadelphia Eagles Look To Take Flight Against the Buffalo Bills
The Philadelphia Eagles Look To Take Flight Against the Buffalo Bills

The season has started off slow for the Philadelphia Eagles and they hope they can right the ship against the Buffalo Bills. The latest NFL betting spread on this game can be found at Bet Phoenix. Sign up today and get great bonuses to bet on the NFL.

Dubbed the "Dream Team" by backup quarterback Vince Young in the offseason, the Eagles are 1-3 to start the season and are facing some serious issues. Starting quarterback Mike Vick has been battling hand and head injuries all season, and has been knocked out of two of his last three games.

This is because of a shaky offensive line that has allowed opposing pass rushes to get into the backfield and disrupt plays time and time again. This is one thing that Buffalo is going to have to take advantage of if they hope to contain Vick who is a very good rusher, and can pass very well from the pocket when he wants to.

In order for the Bills to win, they are going to have to rely more on the running game and rely less on quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. While Fitz was productive against the Bengals in spurts, it was obvious that the offensive line was having trouble protecting the quarterback. Part of the reason was that the Bills ran only 18 times against Cincinnati vs throwing over 30 times. Balance will be key to victory.

For the Eagles, they just have to stop shooting themselves in the foot. Dumb turnovers contributed to the the loss last week and have plagued Philly all season. A good example was last week when fullback Ronnie Brown tried to pass the ball back while being tackled at the one yard line. The back was easily intercepted and it killed a potential scoring drive right by the endzone.

The leaves are changing colors and that means the Bills are going to be tougher to play at home. This is the time of year where those winds start to swirl and it gets tougher to throw the ball in Buffalo. The Eagles are also going to have to deal with a home crowd that hasn't been this enthusiastic about its team in quite some time. Coming off a disappointing loss, the home fans are going to be really giving the Eagles fits all day.

Sunday's game will also be a big mental test for the Bills as they try to see what they learned from losing to a team that they should have beat after blowing a 14 point lead. If their 3-0 start was not simply a mirage, they should be able to come back and win this game, or at very least correct the mistakes they made last week.

Philadelphia will also be looking to show that they are better than the 1-3 record that they have put up this year. Coach Andy Reid typically starts off slow only to really bring it in November and December. However, if they do not win on Sunday, they will be 1-4 and that could spell early doom in a stacked NFC.

This game is suddenly become crucial for the Eagles who are seriously underachieving. The Buffalo Bills are at hom and a pleasant surprise on the season that will be tough to beat.
