The Packers continued to overwhelm their opponents this past Sunday, the latest being a 49-23 shellacking of the Denver Broncos at Lambeau Field. QB Aaron Rodgers continues to show why he's at least in the category of the Brady's and Brees' among elite NFL QBs with his career-best 408 yards passing in the one-sided affair. Rodgers also tied his career-high with 4 TD passes, and for good measure, #12 also scored twice himself on short runs. The victory left Green Bay at 4-0, and their only equal (also at 4-0) is surprising NFC North rival Detroit.

Rodgers had plenty of help in the win, and on both sides of the ball. RB James Starks piled up 63 yards on 13 carries, while WRs Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson teamed up for a combined 12 receptions, good for 194 yards and two TDs. All afternoon, the Packers offense moved the ball, at times almost effortlessly as they dropped visiting Denver, under new head coach John Fox, to 1-3.

The Atlanta Falcons improved to 2-2 for 2011, surviving a furious second-half comeback in Seattle with a nail-biter of a win, 30-28. All the Falcons could do was watch and pray as Seattle PK Steven Hauschka's potential game-winning 61-yard field goal attempt fell short in the final seconds.

The Falcons let a 27-7 lead melt away despite Ryan's 291 yards passing. Ryan completed 28 of 42 attempts, with rookie WR Julio Jones enjoying his finest day yet, grabbing 11 balls for 127 yards, while his WR running-mate, All-Pro Roddy White, hauled in 6 for 78 yards. RB Michael Turner pounded away at the Seattle defense for 70 yards on 26 carries, while Ryan helped himself on several occasions, picking up 26 yards on his 4 attempts.

Defensively, it appears the Falcons had pre-determined that Seahawks QB Tavares Jackson could not beat them by himself, so they focused on stopping RB Marshawn Lynch. They accomplished that, holding him to 24 yards on 8 carries, while stuffing the Seattle overall ground game to a total of 53 yards on the day. Jackson, however, set career-bests with 319 yards passing, and his 3 TD passes made the game much closer than the Falcons would have preferred. The elusive Jackson avoided being sacked by John Abraham and Co., but two costly interceptions led to 10 Falcon points, and when the defense found itself with its collective back against the wall, they responded.

The Falcons are not as good as the Packers, but they are a much different team at home in the dome.
