The Indianapolis Colts Search for their first victory against the Cincinnati Bengals
The Indianapolis Colts Search for their first victory against the Cincinnati Bengals

The Indianapolis Colts will be without Peyton Manning again this week, but still think they have a shot at beating the Cincinnati Bengals. The latest NFL odds for this game and all of the other exciting action on Sunday can be found at online sportsbook Bet Phoenix.

After coming to terms with the fact that Peyton Manning was not an option behind center and suffering through the growing pains that comes with starting Curtis Painter and Kerry Collins for the first 5 weeks the Indianapolis Colts appeared to have broken new ground against the Chiefs last week when they raced out to a respectable lead and were in line for their first victory. Then everything fell apart and as such the Colts remain winless sitting at 0-5 heading into Cincinnati against a surprising Bengals team who looks to move to 4-2 with the win.

Curtis Painter finally found his favorite target over the past two weeks as Pierre Garcon has recorded all 4 of Painter's touchdown passes this season as Colts fans breathed a collective sigh of rejoice as their team finally found ways to score without having Peyton Manning in the boxscore. However, the new found relationship between quarterback and receiver wasn't nearly enough as the Colts fell to the Chiefs in Indianapolis to fall to 0-5 and are in deep trouble in the AFC South.

The perennial AFC powerhouse has all but packed their season in and although the inevitable attribution to Manning's absence as the scapegoat to a terrible season it is alarming that the world class talent on this roster seems Pop Warner like without Manning in the lineup. Offensively the Colts have been horrible as Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne are on pace for their worst seasons in some time and defensively the Colts haven't been much better as evidence of their 0-5 record. No they travel to Cincinnati who has nothing but confidence moving forward and has a quarterback receiver relationship of their own that has drawn the attention of the league all season long.

That tandem is in reference to AJ Green and Andy Dalton who have been spectacular for the black and orange this season and for a team who was expected to win fewer than 5 games all season long they are just 2 wins away from eclipsing that mark in this just the 6th week of the season. Cincy has had some other talents step up as well but the Green-Dalton connection has been the team's bread and butter in what should be a very successful tandem for years to come. Jermaine Gresham has also been a success story for the Bengals this season and if he can continue drawing defenders his way or getting single coverage in the red zone he should continue to put up numbers as the Bengals attempt to climb quietly into the wild card picture.

It will be interesting to see how the Bengals do when they are favored to win the game, this week against the Colts.
