| BCS Rankings 2011: Things Wrong with the College Football BCS Rankings |
LSU won the top spot in the BCS Rankings, and this is one of the few things that was right about this poll. This of course won’t matter until the game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the winner of that will be the unanimous No. 1, but in the meantime, other teams are getting disrespected. Wisconsin comes in at No. 6 and this is a slap in the face to a team that could easily win a national championship. Boise State sits in the No.5 spot and although they are deserved of a high ranking they don’t deserve to be slated above the Badgers. The Badgers have an outstanding system, talented players and signature wins on the season. The schedule alone is reason to put the Badgers higher in the BCS Standings. The Stanford Cardinal is another team that was overlooked in the standings. Andrew Luck is the heartbeat of this club and they are crushing the opposition. The Cardinal are worthy of a higher ranking and will need to keep winning, if they hope to get any respect. The last team that could gripe about the rankings is the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks have recovered from injuries to key personnel and the only loss on the season was to LSU, who is arguably the best team in football. They sit at No. 10 in the BCS rankings one game behind a one loss Hogs team that lost to Alabama. In the past, the BCS Rankings will work out because there are just a few teams that will remain undefeated, however this year could be different. Many of the teams can stay undefeated and it will be important to get the rankings right now so if more than two teams are undefeated, the correct team will play in the big game. So far they have gotten it wrong.
