| California vs. Utah Betting Game Preview |
The latest college football odds can be four at online sportsbook Bet Phoenix. For all of your college football wagering needs, Bet Phoenix is the best place to bet on college football. The 3-3, 0-3 California Golden Bears offensively didn't do much right last week which is scary under offensive genius and head coach Jeff Tedford. 5-1, 3-1 Southern California had their way with Cal destroying the Bears in San Francisco on a Thursday night ESPN game. Meanwhile on Saturday the 3-3, 0-3 Utah Utes upset 3-4, 1-1 Pittsburgh 26-14 in an away game. Cal scored on a senior placekicker Georgio Tavecchio field goal from 27 yards away and a three-yard rush by junior quarterback Zach Maynard who at times looked more accurate passing to Trojan defensive players than his own teammates. It was a scary sight for Bear fans as a number of Maynard miscues set USC up in prime position to score. The two Cal scores came during the third quarter, but after their only touchdown Tavecchio's extra point was blocked. The only positive for the Bears, who had five turnovers, besides sophomore wide receiver Keenan Allen catching 13 balls for 160 yards was they outgained the Trojans 329-310. Two days later Utah showed more pulse on the road against the Panthers. Junior PK Coleman Petersen sank a 23-yard field goal to cap a 5:06 12-play 73-yard drive, but Pittsburgh ran back the ensuing kickoff and then returned a short punt for a TD to make it 14-3 Panthers after one. However the Utes got back in it with Petersen sinking a FG late in the first half before juniors QB Jon Hays found WR Luke Matthews for a 33-yard passing TD. Then during the third quarter Petersen's 39-yarder put Utah back ahead 16-14. Petersen sank another FG in the fourth before senior defensive end Derrick Shelby's 21-yard pick six finished the scoring. Utah is looking for a successful year in the Pac-12, and it is games against teams like Califrnia that could make all the difference, upon reflection.
