| Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Michigan State Spartans |
The top online sportsbook to bet on college football is Bet Phoenix as they cover all of the college football wagering odds and betting options. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are fresh off a romping of the Minnesota Golden Gophers this past weekend. As expected, the Huskers had no trouble handling the Golden Gophers as the Huskers probably could have named their own score in this one. Taylor Martinez has been on the hot seat at times this season in Lincoln as his play, and his attitude towards the media have come into question, but Martinez was excellent against Minnesota this past weekend completing 13/22 for 162 yards and one score while rushing for 52 yards as well. Rex Burkhead is becoming one of the top backs in all of the Big Ten, and with all the talent at that position throughout the conference, that is really quite an accomplishment. Burkhead helped the Huskers pound out an impressive ground attack against the Gophers as the Huskers rushed for 346 yards on the day and three scores. The Huskers will be going up against a Spartan defense that has one of the top front 7's in the conference, and the Spartans will be ready to face the Huskers mighty ground attack after MSU was able to contain the Badgers ground game, at least somewhat last weekend. The Michigan State Spartans easily had the biggest and most dramatic win this past weekend as Kirk Cousins lobbed a hail mary pass that was caught by Keith Nichol at the one yard line and Nichol fought his way across the goal line for the win. Michigan State is an impressive 6-1, and while the MSU offense struggled early on this year, the Spartans are really coming on lately and if Michigan State can avoid a letdown after last weekend, MSU could be well on their way to another victory this weekend against Nebraska. Kirk Cousins is the leader of this Spartan offense and Cousins put on a show against the Badger defense this past weekend as the MSU quarterback threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns against mighty Badgers. The Spartan defense is ranked seventh in the nation in points allowed as MSU allows just 13.7 per game, and I think the Huskers are going to have some trouble moving the ball against the Spartan D, as Martinez has excelled against lesser competition, but against the more talented teams the Husker quarterback has made some costly mistakes in some big moments. If Michigan State can protect the ball, and keep the chains moving against the Huskers offensively, I like the Spartans chances here. The Spartans will get higher in the rankings if they beat Nebraska, but they will have to get over the emotional win against the Badgers from a week ago.
