I expect to see a much better performance this weekend against the Gophers. Minnesota came into this past weekend's matchup with their rival the Iowa Hawkeyes having just won one game all season, and never really competing with their Big Ten conference foes. Minnesota showed everyone that in a rivalry game; never underestimate the home team, especially when there is a trophy of a pig at stake. Minnesota was outgained by the Hawkeyes on the day, but some last minute heroics, including an onside kick recovery spurred the Golden Gophers on to the win against their rival Hawkeyes. Like I said above about how the Spartans are better than they played this past week, well the Gophers aren't as good as they played this past week. Minnesota always plays the Hawkeyes tough, and Minnesota caught Iowa in a rebuilding year. Minnesota is definitely in a tough spot this week traveling to East Lansing against a Spartan team out to prove to everyone they are better than their showing against the Huskers. The Spartans cannot afford to look past Minnesota and get caught napping. Instead they need to get a big win and get back into the hunt for the Big Ten title.
