| Oregon State Beavers vs. Stanford Cardinal |
The latest college football odds for week ten and the best wagering options on football can be found at Bet Phoenix. Senior quarterback Andrew Luck found junior running back Tyler Gaffney from 10 yards away to begin the shootout. Go figure the shootout would be put on hold until the third quarter however as three straight field goals ensued, two by the Cardinal and one by USC. After the Trojans scored twice to open the second half, Stanford brought out their guns with Luck running one in 5:12 after finding junior fullback Ryan Hewitt from five yards out for a score with 5:10 to go in the game, junior placekicker Eric Whitaker knotted things up. Then after Luck's pick six the senior standout orchestrated a drive ending with junior RB Stepfan Taylor bursting through the USC defensive line. Senior RB Jeremy Stewart joined the touchdown party to begin the scoring in overtime as junior tight end Levine Toilolo caught Luck's third throwing TD to end the second OT. Taylor's five-yard gash followed by Luck's dart to senior tight end Coby Fleener for a two-point conversion capped the fireworks in LA for the Trojans and Cardinal. Stanford's next and final road test of the season comes this week at the 2-6, 2-3 Oregon State Beavers who were embarrassed by Utah 27-8. While the Utes couldn't pass, only throwing 62 yards for the game, Oregon State couldn't establish a running game gaining just 32 yards on 26 carries. Freshman QB Sean Mannion hooked up with junior WR Markus Wheaton for the Beavs' only score aside from a safety minutes after a failed two-point conversion five seconds into the fourth quarter. The Cardinal are on a mission in David Shaw's first year as their head coach while Mike Riley's job security appears to be getting harder by the minute. I was on Stanford covering last week and while they didn't cover the opening 8.5-margin they did cover at many sports books. Eventually the Cardinal's longest win streak in school history will come to a close. I'm sure it won't be this Saturday, but whether they can cover yet again this year is the big question. The Cardinals should stay undefeated going up against the overmatched Beavers, but anything can happen in college football and Luck may be needed to get the victory.
