| Notre Dame vs. Wake Forest |

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons step out of ACC play to host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday in Winston-Salem. Both the Irish and Deacs come into the contest sporting 5-3 records and a win would pay dividends for each squad moving forward. The Fighting Irish looked like a team on a mission last week against Navy. ND came out rolling from the start and never looked back. The Irish rushed for seven touchdowns against the Midshipmen, their highest total in 19 years. The defense also had a very impressive performance, holding Navy to 229 yards of total offense, the Midshipmen's lowest total of the season. Navy has lost six straight this year and frankly, is just a bad team. Notre Dame has a chance to really move forward, with three staight games against some of the weakest of the ACC in the coming weeks against Boston College and Maryland. Turnovers were the recipe for defeat for Wake Forest last week against North Carolina. The Demon Deacons turned the ball over five times, three of which were interceptions from Tanner Price. Wake's hope for a victory was not helped by the defense either, which surrendered 224 yards via the rush, with North Carolina's Giovani Bernard having a monster day. If Wake Forest hopes to have a chance against the Irish, they must contain the rush better, as ND is coming off their most impressive rushing of the season. Notre Dame cannot afford to lose any more games if they want to make an impact in the college football bowl season.
