The best place to bet on football is the top rated online sportsbook Bet Phoenix. If you’re going to bet on the NFL and you’re looking for odds on every game and the best wagering options, then Bet Phoenix is the sportsbook to sign up at. The only undefeated team in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers current Super Bowl champions, will visit the Chargers on Sunday in San Diego. This should be good game, and a desperate San Diego team should bring it’s A game this week. Coming off an ugly loss to the Chiefs on Monday night, quarterback Philip Rivers is going to be out to prove that his team is playoff material. Leading the AFC West with a 4-1 record, the Chargers have lost leads in two straight games in losses to the Jets and Chiefs. Rivers has not played well, throwing multiple interceptions in both games. In fact, he has thrown multiple interceptions in 4 games this season, compared to just 2 a year ago. On the other side of the ball, there is no doubt that Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL and shooting for NFL MVP. Rodgers is averaging 340 yards a game while having a more than 6-1 TD to INT ratio. He has 20 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions on the season. His favorite target is Greg Jennings, who is averaging almost 100 yards a game to go along with his 5 touchdown catches this season. When it comes to running the ball, James Starks is averaging 4.5 yards a carry on 83 rushes this season, so the Packers can run the ball if needed. Ryan Grant is another running option for the Packers and is averaging 4 yards a carry. Fullback John Kuhn is threat to score from the goal line on designed fullback dive plays. To win this game, the Chargers are going to have to keep the ball out of the hands of the Packers offense and in the hands of Rivers. To do this, they are going to have to establish the run and control the clock. Mike Tolbert was missing from the game on Monday night, and if he is not able to go, it will depend on Ryan Mathews to carry the load for San Diego. Defensively, the Packers are going to need a big game from Charles Woodson. Woodson has emerged over the past few season as one of the steadier corners in the league. He will most likely be matched up against Vincent Jackson, the 6'5 Chargers wide out. He may also see time against Allpro tight end Antonio Gates. The strength of the Chargers defense is really in their front seven. Linebacker Shaun Phillips has 3 sacks and an interception to go along with 23 tackles this season. Reserve linebacker Antwan Barnes also has 3 sacks and a forced fumble this season. Making sure that Aaron Rodgers is off balance will be a major challenge, but it will be the only way for the Chargers to keep the game close. One positive is that the game will be in San Diego, and the long trip involved for the Packers could be an issue. However, the Packers are averaging almost 30 points a game on the road, which seems daunting enough, but Green Bay is averaging almost 40 points a game at home. The Chargers are 3-0 at home this season averaging almost 24 points a game at home. On paper, this means that this should be a close game, and that a fluke turnover, or big play, could be the difference between winning and losing this game. If this is the case, Randall Cobb, the kick and punt returner for the Packers should be a player to watch. He has already returned a kick for a touchdown this season. Interestingly enough the opening NFL odds have the Packers as a six point favorite on the road, meaning that if the points averages stay the same, the Chargers will at least win against the spread. The Chargers have given away the last few games of the season and easily could have swept the slate. Now they have put the team in a tough position and they are in a must win against one of the best teams in football when the Packers come calling.
