Wednesday Night Football: Miami OH vs. Temple
Wednesday Night Football: Miami OH vs. Temple

Wednesday night just features one game in college football as the Miami of Ohio Redhawks tee it up against the Temple Owls.

Bet Phoenix has all off the latest odds on this game and all of the college football betting action for week 11.

Miami (Ohio) needed a win against Akron and went out and did exactly as needed with a dominating performance on both sides of the ball. The Redhawks jumped out to a 28-0 bulge heading in to the locker room and were never challenged in a balanced offensive performance by their standards. That means that Miami actually received some production from a generally struggling rushing attack that still wasn’t potent but was productive with nearly 170 yards with a 3.5 yard average. Justin Semmes led the way with 100 yards on 24 carries with a pair of trips to the end zone. The bread and butter passing game of quarterback Zac Dysert was alive and well with 215 yards on 12 of 19 completions with two touchdowns against zero interceptions.

Altogether the Redhawks totaled 383 yards and didn’t make any mistakes to give an inferior Akron squad any chance. The defense didn’t give the Zips much of a chance either by giving up only 201 yards and forcing a pair of turnovers.

Temple’s drive for the top spot in the MAC East took a shot against nemesis Ohio who always seems ready to rain on the Owls parade. Temple played well on offense put never showed up on the defensive side of the football as the Bobcats ran and threw their way to 521 yards and just one giveaway. The Owls moved the ball as well with 437 yards and were impressive on the ground with over 300 rushing yards and just under seven yard average. The two headed ground game of quarterback Chris Coyer and Bernard Pierce provided plenty of punch. Pierce went for 84 yards on 22 totes but Coyer was explosive with 184 yards on just 17 carries.

He proved to be something Temple rarely gets from the QB spot a dual threat. Coyer was 8 of 14 for 123 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. The Owls are in desperate need of a quarterback that is a viable passer because their work on the ground speaks for itself.

Now Temple will have to hope to rebound from a tough loss and defeat Miami of Ohio if they hope to get back into the race for a bowl berth and a MAC title.
