Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Michigan Wolverines
Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Michigan Wolverines

The Michigan Wolverines will be ready to rip apart Illinois after losing last week, but it will be interesting to see if they can do it.

Bet Phoenix has all off the latest odds on this game and all of the college football betting action for week 11.

The Illinois Fighting Illini enjoyed a bye week last weekend in order to prepare and rest for this week's game against the Wolverines, while Michigan suffered just their second loss of the season last Saturday against the Hawkeyes in Iowa City.

In their last game on October 29 the Illinois Fighting Illini fell to the Penn State Nittany Lions 10-7. Illinois has been playing pretty good ball this season, and a big reason for that is their star quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase. Scheelhaase is one of the more talented signal callers in the Big Ten, although the Nittany Lions were able to contain the Illini quarterback holding Scheelhaase to just 63 yards and one score through the air. Scheelhaase did do some damage to the Nittany Lions on the ground however, rushing for 89 yards on the day.

Illinois’ head coach Ron Zook has been criticized throughout his career for his in-game coaching ability, although his talents as a recruiter are second to none and the pure talent level on the field for Illinois can keep them in most every game they play. Illinois plays solid defense allowing just 17.2 points per game this year and offensively the Fighting Illini will try and keep things on the ground and play keep away from the Wolverines this weekend.

The Michigan Wolverines are much improved under Brady Hoke this season with the biggest difference coming on the defensive side of the ball where the Wolverines are ranked 7th in the nation in scoring defense allowing just 15.7 points per game. Michigan fell to their rival the Iowa Hawkeyes last weekend in Iowa City, a tough place to play for anyone. Denard Robinson did have some success for the Wolverines as Robinson threw for 194 yards and two scores. Touissant is starting to earn more carries for the Wolverines as it is becoming apparent that Michigan can't rely on Robinson alone to carry the load.

This game is crucial in the Big Ten and could dash the hopes of one of the team of getting that elusive Big Ten title.
